Jacob Horsey

Jacob is an Australian musician whose haunting compositions convey a profound devotion to Meher Baba. He has performed at Meherabad for Amartithi, at Avatar’s Abode, and at Sheriar Books in Myrtle Beach.

He grew up on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia and unknowingly lived only 10 minutes away from Avatar’s Abode, where Avatar Meher Baba visited in 1958. As a young adult in the quest for Truth, Jacob accepted Meher Baba as the Avatar after investigating various spiritual traditions and masters.

He has been very involved at Avatar’s Abode with music, building, gardening and as a previous director on the board of trustees. Before Jacob had even heard of Meher Baba, his guitar teacher was the late Australian Baba Lover and musician, Sam Saunders, who put many of Francis Brabazon’s ghazals to music. 

Jacob currently lives in Perth, Western Australia, with his wife Elizabeth Horsey and their children Tajuddin and Tallulah, where he teaches at a Montessori school.
